The problem

Public patent and trademark data was spread across many sources and hard to search. Researchers, developers and businesses needed one door.

What we built

Since 2016 we've helped design, architect and launch the USPTO Open Data portal. It runs as a containerized Drupal stack on AWS ECR and Fargate, with Apache Solr for faceted search, trademark image search in React and interactive visualizations in D3.

The impact
